New Releases!!

I have been working on some great soap for the holidays!!

The first up is Red Tulip and Evergreen! This was a bestseller last year.  When I smell this soap I think of the great outdoors, of Christmas tree and flowers. It pulls me to the dream of an old fashioned Christmas in a cabin in the woods.  A great way to bring the outdoors indoors.

Next is Tree Lighting! Another great holiday season scent.  Imagine this, a  pot of simmering cranberries with some orange slices on the stove in a cabin with the deck doors open to snowy fresh outdoors.  A great mix of sweet and outdoorsy.  A must have for the holidays

Christmas Eve has been a popular soap since I opened my shop. A fantastic blend of fruits, vanilla, cinnamon and musk.  This fragrance is a blend that soothes the soul.

Who doesn't love gingerbread during the Holidays.   This will take you back to baking with your Grandma.  A great blend of cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, honey, ginger, cloves and lemon.  All the great ingredients to make those delicious
cookie that we all enjoyed with a glass of milk during those cold winter months.

Winter Dreams is a perfect blend of fruit, patchouli, sandalwood, musk, vanilla with some cinnamon added.  A great blend for those lovers of the earthy blends.  A must have for the holidays.

These new fragrances will be added to the web store this week and will be up for pre sale then.  They will be ready to ship around Oct 10.

Please let me know of any great holiday scents that you think I'm missing.  I love to hear what people like and want for the holidays.

Have a great day!!

Soapy Kitchen!

Every Soapers Dream to Have Their Own Kitchen!!

When my husband brought up to me that we could build me my own soap kitchen in part of the basement, I said "I don't need that!"  Why would we go to all this expense to put a one use space in our home? But he finally talked me into it.  Well let me tell you, it is the best thing ever!!
I
This is my great work space, with lots of storage.  It is definitely a bit tight, so I better not gain any weight, haha, but I love it!

My sink, hot plate and microwave stand which now contains a microwave.  It is just the perfect amount of space and equipment to make all kinds of products and stay organized.  Mainly this area is where all the magic happens!!

I have a small area for display of some of my products including the lotions, body butters, scrubs, lotion bars, salt soaks and Buddha soaps.  It also has my colors and misc ingredients.

Next we have my small hoarding of fragrance oils and essential oils.  When I put them all in one spot I'm kind of happy but kind of what the hell do I need all these fragrances for.  Beside the fragrances is all the clays, exfoliants, salts and other items that make the most fantastic products you can imagine.

Last but not least I have my lip balm station, bath bomb station, my glycerin soap station, some molds and most of my equipment.
I have one more shelf to add, hopefully this weekend.
I am one of the luckiest ladies around, my husband built me this beautiful space and I love it, I don't like to leave it.  All I'm missing is a coffee maker and then I would never leave it!
I hope you enjoyed my tour of my soap area, I hope that many of you will be able to visit and check it out some time.
Until next time.

Why is The Sassy Soap Company Making Christmas Soaps Now?

 Candy Cane!!

As you may know I am the only person at The Sassy Soap Company, I am the developer, the maker, the one who does the packaging, selling, and marketing.  Which means my time is limited, I spend as much time as I can making new products and featuring new scents and providing the best quality products that I can.

Holiday Candy!!
So when cold process soap, which is mainly what I make, is made there is a cure time of 4 weeks, sometimes longer.  Which ensures the soap is safe for use and makes a nice hard bar.  So I like to have my Christmas products done as early as possible as time may run out for me in the cooking department, in the curing department or I just may get to busy with the festive season.

Snow Witch!!
Why should you buy now?  If there is a soap that you would like for the holidays, I would suggest you purchase soon as possible as I make in small batches, about 10 bars for each fragrance.  I may or may not have time to come back to these fragrances as time passes.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post!!

It's been a long time!!

Where oh where has the time gone?

Well some big events have happened in my life since I posted.

www.thesassysoapcompany.com
1. My oldest son has moved to Changchun, China, where he is teaching English. He absolutely loves it there and loves teaching.  He teaches people from 3 years old to adults. I miss him dearly but know that he loves what he is doing and I try to embrace that everyday.  He won't be home until March 2015, so I have awhile to go.

We chat regularly on skype, not sure what I would have done if he been gone before the age of technology.

2.  My second son, has bought his own home and has moved out.  It is very quiet here now with only one son left at home.  I get to see him regularly as I still cook for him quite often.  That's okay as I'm cooking anyways.  His house is great for him, it's a nice starter house, and for a young man of 19 years I'm pretty proud that he can do this all on his own.

Signing the papers!

3. My third and final boy is just about to start his final year of high school.  He is a great student and will be applying to University soon.  I hope he stays relatively close to home but will embrace whatever he so chooses.  He was elected Senior Stick(which is kind of the head boy for the graduation committee) so he will be very busy.  He also hopes to return to wrestling this year, can't wait to watch lots of matches this year.

Looking Good!!

4.  I have just about finished my new soap kitchen which is allowing me to be much more organized and on top of all the things I need to do.  I love my space, it may be small but it's mine.

I am so blessed in this life of mine, my husband designed and put together this great kitchen for me.  He always believes in me and helps me get to my dreams.
Life is always an adventure and I love it!!
Take care,
Randi

Snow Day and Bath Bombs

Happy Friday!
It is a snowy day here in Swift Current, needing to snow blow our way out of the house.

This is out my back door! Holy snow batman.

Yesterday was bath bomb day at "The Sassy Soap Company.  I will be posting pictures of the journey I take to make bath bombs.
My bath bombs are only about 1oz, but full of good things for your body.  I include baking soda, citric acid, coconut oil and fragrance/essential oils.  They fizz nice and make your skin silky smooth when you get out of your tub.  The reason I choose this recipe was the very few ingredients that were required and for the fact there was coconut oil in it, which is so amazing for your skin.

Coconut oil is excellent massage oil for the skin. It acts as an effective moisturizer on all types of skins including dry skin. The benefit of coconut oil on the skin is comparable to that of mineral oil. Further, unlike mineral oil, there is no chance of having any adverse side effects on the skin with the application of coconut oil. Coconut oil therefore is a safe solution for preventing dryness and flaking of skin. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitiseczema and other skin infections. Therefore coconut oil forms the basic ingredient of various body care products such as soaps, lotions, creams, etc., used for skin care. Coconut oil also helps in preventing premature aging and degenerative diseases due to its antioxidant properties.
Thanks to organic facts for this useful information.
I sell my bath bombs in different packages.  I sell them individually for $1.25, 5 packs for $5.00, and 16 packs for $15.00.

I start with my basic ingredients!
 Mix thoroughly!

 Shape into bath bombs!

Wrap and package!! Love them.  They are so perfect when you need that relaxing bath after a long day!
Enjoy your Friday!

Starting off the New Year with a Blog!!

Good Morning to All:

This is my new blog of my soap company "The Sassy Soap Company".

My name is Randi Hymers, I opened my company on Nov 3, 2012, and have been soaping and developing new products just about every day since.  I have 3 great sons and a very supportive husband that have helped along the way.  Its been an interesting ride so far into the world of selling soap and other personal care product.

I am fairly new a soap making but have found that it is the best thing I have ever done.  I have been looking into healthier choices for my skin and my boys skin for awhile and never found products that I was completely happy with or fit my budget.  With making my own soap I know exactly what is in it and I can control what I use on my skin.  When I mentioned I was interested in started to sell my soap I had a lot of interest and thought what the heck. I was pointed in the direction of a former soap business owner that had supplies to sell.  She was kind enough to help me get started and like they say the rest is history.

My soaps  are made with few ingredients, olive  or canola oil, coconut oil,  she butter, lye  and water.  I add the fragrance oil and color to spruce it up.  I use only high recommended suppliers for my supplies.  All that are within Canada and the US.  I use very basic ingredients in the rest of my products as well, nice oils and wonderful fragrances.

I can't begin to share the gratitude  I have for everyone that has supported me in this journey, and I hope I can provide you with awesome products that are naturally made with lots of love for many years to come.  Thanks to all who have been with me from the start and welcome to all the newcomers.

If you have suggestion let me hear them I have an open ear and it just might be my next best product or step in my journey.

Take care,
Have a wonderful week!!
